6 Weeks

I put these first two pictures up because I think it's just crazy how much Lily has grown! The top picture is when she was 2 weeks old and the second picture is her at 6 weeks. I think you can tell the big changes! I tried to weigh her the other day and I think she is about 11 lbs now! She was almost 9 lbs in the top picture. Two pounds makes a big difference in a little baby!

Tuesday, my friend Verity came over with her twin boys Caedmon and Carrick. They are about 6 weeks older than Lily. It certainly doesn't look like it here though since Lily is so long! She took a liking to Caedmon as you can see they are holding hands in the picture above:) How cute! Hopefully we can have many more play dates with these two cuties!

2 steps forward...1 step back: Above Lily is wearing her favorite outfit from her Auntie Nicole:) She was particulary smiley that morning, maybe since we had a good night of sleep. In my previous blog entry, I mentioned that she was sleeping much longer stretches at night. I was so excited that she was getting it! However, I spoke too soon. She had a couple of BAD nights after I wrote that, one with which she only allowed her mom to get 3 hours of sleep. I've learned that it isn't going to be like a switch turned on with her. There will be good nights and bad nights. However, as long as the general trend keeps improving, that's reason for optimism.

Here, Lily is cuddling with her dad. She misses him a lot now that he returned to work this past Monday. (Her mom misses him a lot too). Everybody thought we would get sick of each other being home together for 6 weeks straight. That just wasn't the case. It's been a bit of an adjustment with Dave gone, but we are surviving. I really can't complain at all since most dads hardly get any time off after their child is born. I was thinking...paternity leave should be longer for everyone! Dave and Lily really got to know each other during this time and we really worked as a team. I can't imagine him missing all of that time with her.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. The blog keeps us in touch while we're "on the road." We miss you all. Wow, what a growing little girl!
