Today Lily is one month old! I can't believe it! She certainly has seemed bigger and bigger. She started her "birthday" like a big girl and went 5 hours between two of the night feedings! Ah....sleep:) unfortunately she reverted back to her baby-self and kept Dave very busy from 7:30 to 10:00 am. She just feels it's necessary to remind us that she is a baby after all. In order to celebrate her big day, I decided to try out the carseat/stroller again. I took her when she was already sleeping which was key and we walked for over an hour! Luckily, we ran into our friend Jenn with her twin 1 year-old boys and they joined us for the majority of our walk. It felt great to be outside for that long and she didn't make a peep until she stopped moving when I brought her inside. Good Girl Lily!
Later I tried a outdoor "photo session" as you can tell from the above pictures. I figured it would be better light than are little apartment. She did great, but is not the best at smiling for the camara yet:)
Lastly, I think I pushed the envelope with this...I took her to Target...BY MYSELF! I need to be able to do that when Dave goes back to work so I thought I'd better try. This is scary because my worst fear is that she will start screaming and everyone will stare as I run out of the store. We started out great. I fed her and burped her and calmed her enough to get into the carseat (upon which resulted in minute or two of screaming until I started swinging the carseat). Once sleeping again, we had an uneventful drive to Target and she stayed sleeping while I shopped until I got to the last thing on my short list. I would have made it out unscathed if only they hadn't moved the paper bathroom cups. I asked one person who didn't have a clue as Lily started to brew a tantrum. Then after looking around again I asked another worker and she also didn't know because she was on vacation and they recently moved some items around. As she called in over her walky talky Lily lost it. And I mean lost it. Blood curdling screams. The woman had to go to another aisle to call it in. As soon as she relayed the info, I grabbed Lily out of the carseat (apparently viewed by her as a death trap). I was in the main aisle of Target and EVERYBODY turned and stared. I turned the cart into a side aisle and tried to calm her. It took a while since it is very "tragic" to wake up in her carseat. Finally I calmed her and got the stupid bathroom cups and checked out all while carrying her. We made it to the car and then into the carseat she goes and of course she screams all the way home. I guess she's not a big Target fan. If only they hadn't moved that dang paper cups... I guess I have to give her a break. She is only one month old:)
