Lily and I went to the Como Conservatory with Verity, Caedmon, and Carrick yesterday. Here we are amongst the ferns. It felt so good to be in humid warm air!

It was difficult to get everyone to look, but this is as close as we got. This was taken in the Sunken Garden where the current show is Winter Flowers. It was beautiful!

Here we are with the Oriental Lilies.

For a comparison...here I am in the Sunken Garden just days before I delivered Lily. There were many lilies there that day too.

Lily with the lilies! She liked to touch them so I had to keep a close eye on her:)

I feel compelled to respond to the latest blog entries, but have decided I needn't disgrace these lovely photos with an attempt to elucidate them. The beauty captured here seems not to need my comment. The sunshine, the eye-twinkles and nose-scrinches, the Star-Gazer's all speak for themselves. I cannot resist highlighting, however, their most precious quality. I see an understanding in the eyes of the mothers that these sun-filled afternoons, captured in split seconds, represent the best of what will be remembered by parent and child.
My own fondest memories from childhood are not the most obvious. The crazy family vacations. The Christmas mornings. The birthday presents. Rather, they are quieter. A Saturday afternoon taking a nap with my own Mother after grilled cheese sandwiches. Evenings rocking in the big, brown chair with Dad. Et cetera.
Angie's eyes give her away. How wonderful to comprehend the greatness of these moments as they are happening...
True joy, no? :)
