Check Up on Baby Girl

So, you probably were not expecting any more pictures of our baby girl before she was born, but today I had another peek. I had my OB appointment today and for the second time my belly measured small (27cm instead of 29cm). The difference was enough to prompt my OB to order another ultrasound to make sure of two things: 1, the baby not small and 2, there was enough amniotic fluid. Thank goodness they had an ultrasound opening for a little later that afternoon so I didn't have to wait to hear the good or bad news. I only had to sit in the waiting room, trying not to worry too much about an hour. When the time came, everything looked great! The baby measured as if I was due a week ahead of my due date (which was the same at my 20 weeks U/S) and her estimated weight was 3.1 lbs (average at this time is 2.88 lbs)! Fabulous! Also, the amount of fluid looked just fine. So, I guess I'm just carrying this baby differently (maybe lower?). I also got to see that she is for sure a girl :), head down, and I even saw her yawn on the ultrasound. She certainly looked a lot bigger and more squished than 9 weeks ago!

Although this day turned out just fine, it was a reminder to me that everything may not go the same way as it did with Lily. This baby is different and this pregnancy is different. I just have to make sure I remember that:)

This picture is almost easier to look at if you tilt your head to the right. You can see her nose/nostrils, lips and chin peaking through. The U/S tech tried to get a picture of her whole face, but every time she tried, the baby would put her hands up to her face. The tech said, this was as close to 3D as she gets with this machine.

This is hard to see, but the round thing on the lower left is her head, the four little ovals in the middle are her fingers, and the thing on top is her foot touching her forehead. She had one foot up to her forehead (just like at the 20 week ultrasound) and the other knee tucked way up to her chin. I guess this must be comfortable for her!
