Minnesota Zoo

Grandma Williams ("Manma"), Lily, and I braved the cold weather on Monday and took a trip to the MN zoo to see the baby farm animals. Wow, it was chilly! Here Lily got to pet a goat kid although we didn't get too close to those in the pen since they were very jumpy!

Lily is copying the calf..."mooo"!

Grandma and Lily in front of the grown up pigs. I couldn't get over how loud, deep, and scary sounding their snorts and grunts were. Thankfully, the baby pigs were very fun to watch chasing each other around, squealing with delight!

There were a few animals inside we got to see. Lily is petting a "munny". It's funny how I can understand what she is trying to say a lot of the time, but I'm sure others would not understand at all! Lily has started to link a few words together recently. She asked "Nana home?" when she woke from a nap after Papa and Nana Quale had visited. Also, she says "Hello, Dad" and "Hello, Mom" very clearly. I get a kick out of her "L's" since she over-emphasizes them ever since she mastered it a week ago or so:)

There are chicks in there!!

I usually cut up apples for Lily to eat, but she was a little impatient today so I just gave her the whole thing. She did pretty well, but didn't get a whole lot in her mouth. It was still fun though!

Here I am at a little over 16 weeks (last week). I definitely feel like I had a mini growth spurt, but not much has changed recently. My appointment last week went great and they found the heartbeat right away (150 bpm). We could actually hear the baby moving through the doptone. Boy, this baby is active! In fact, he/she is fluttering around as I write this. With Lily I thought I felt a kick at 15 weeks and then didn't feel anything consistent for a couple of weeks. I felt movement with this one at 11-12 weeks and now feel it moving or kicking several times a day. In fact, last night I actually felt it kick my hand on the outside and not just from the inside. Maybe I'm just more aware or maybe this baby will just be more active. We'll get to see the little munchkin and hopefully find out the sex on May 8th. Man, that seems like a long ways away!
