Easter and more

Dave was working all Easter weekend so Lily and I stayed close to home. Hopefully this will be the last major holiday without Daddy Dave around. We missed him!

Lily showing off her fancy Easter dress

We joined Grandma and Grandpa Williams for church and Easter fun after that:)

We hardly got in the door and Lily was already finding eggs! We didn't even have to explain the idea of an Easter Egg Hunt to her. She had found them all in no time at all!

The "Easter Bunny" got Lily some golf clubs and she enjoyed testing them out. The funny thing is every time we cheered when she hit the ball, she would throw her arms (and club) up in the air in triumph! That's actually something Dave taught her to do after making a basket when playing basketball:)

Easter was not exactly the picture perfect Spring day, but it was perfect for snow bunnies and basketball March Madness!

At home, the Easter Bunny left Lily an Elmo-themed Easter basket. I think she's in the middle of saying "Elmo" in the picture.

My good friend Jenny was in town recently and Lily got to show off her new "reading" skills to her while she was here. Lily definitely is not shy since it didn't take long before she was sitting down in Jenny's lap!

Lily is showing off her new "chic" sunglass in hopes that we will actually see some sun and warm weather soon!

As for a Lily update, she continues to amaze me. I was writing down all of the words she was learning, but I finally gave up when she started spouting off words like "chocolate", "eggplant", and "peek-a-boo"! One thing I'm thrilled with is that she says "please" and "thank you". She still doesn't quite understand when it is appropriate to say them, but at least we're headed in the right direction. Sometimes, she will say "thank you" when she hands something to me instead of waiting for me to say it. I can understand the confusion though:) Lily continues to be very friendly and outgoing. Whenever we are out, she says "hi" to every person she sees. Not everyone responds, but that doesn't seem to phase her.

The coolest thing she has done recently is start singing. A week or so ago, I was putting her to bed and while I usually sing a song or to, she must have gotten impatient so she started "singing" one herself! She only used a word or two and the rest was just musical noises, but it was clearly the melody for "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star"!!! I was floored. So I started to sing and she would start the word for each phrase (Twinkle, How...). Since then, she has also added "Old McDonald", although that's harder to understand and pick up.

Lily is getting better at her numbers and letters. She will count with us up to 20 (although the teens all mostly sound the same) and she loves to say the alphabet. The cool thing is that she knows the order of the letters (and numbers) so she can say the alphabet with very little prompting from us.

Lastly, Lily has started "reading" to herself. Dave and I were in the kitchen and all of the sudden we here a little voice in the living room saying letters and identifying pictures. Lily was sitting there spelling the title of her "Baby Words" book and then pointing to each picture and saying out loud what each object/animal was. It was precious to watch. She has always paged through her books by herself, but she has never said anything out loud in the process. She's done it a few times since then, but the mood has to strike her just right.

I don't have any new baby updates besides I think I've been feeling more movement lately. I have my 16 weeks appointment on Friday and hopefully I will schedule my 20 week ultrasound! That's all for now!

Dear Lily,

I can't wait until you sing and read a bedtime story for me. That will be amazing. But then you are the amazing Lily.

Seriously, where did you get those glasses? Hope the sun has come out for you by now.

I love the dress. Any summer weddings or events that she can wear it to?
