100th Post!

Here is our sweet Lily outside enjoying a unseasonably warm Monday. It sure looks like she's thinking about something interesting.

It was so much easier to take outside pictures of Lily last summer. Now, she is distracted by everything...a car going by, a squirrel running up a tree, or a bird flying overhead. (Thanks for the adorable outfit Scott and Sarah!)

Lily liked feeling the grass with her fingers. I probably should have let her just roll around in it, but I'd just given her a bath! I think I'm going to have to get over that because she's going to be crawling and learning how to walk all summer and she's bound to get dirty:)

Something else is a lot more interesting to look at than the camera!

I just thought this was a cute pic:)

This is one new thing that Lily does ever since she started crawling. She pick up her leg and grabs her toe. It's amazing how flexible babies are. She will also lay her head all the way down onto the floor while she's sitting!

Yo Lily, sweet cap! We want to try to go to a Twins game sometime soon while she still fits in this hat.

Silly Lily!

Since Lily has hit another major milestone (crawling) I was thinking back at other big moments in her development. Amazingly, I realized that Dave has been home to see every big one! I find that so lucky given his crazy schedule. For example, he was home when she laughed for the first time, rolled for the first time, ate solids for the first time, and of course crawled for the first time. Each time, she has displayed her new feat and we just look at each other in amazement and say "did you see that?".

Lily has certainly "taken off" like we predicted as soon as she learned to crawl. She is everywhere! Now, she can explore the kitchen and dining room, whereas before, she never quite rolled that far. She is also trying to pull herself up. She was successful once, on the laundry basket. It must have been the right height. She can pull herself up to her knees though. In fact, when I went in her room to get her after her morning nap today, she was on her knees holding on the bars of the crib! Pretty soon, she'll be standing in her crib when I walk in the door.

One funny thing that she does is if I tilt my head to the side, she'll copy me with a big smile on her face. Over and over, it still gets giggles...especially in her high chair.

Lily loves her books! I've now stacked them all under our coffee table so she can get to them. (don't worry, they are all board books!) She can amuse herself for quite a while, just paging through them on her own. One funny thing is that she has favorite pages in a few of the books. For example, in her Big Animal Book she flips through nonchalantly until she gets to the page with the owl on it. Every time, she stops flipping gets a big smile on her face and sometimes even leans down to "kiss" the picture (or maybe just get a closer look). It's adorable! Another example is her Who said Moo book in which she loves the chickens go cluck cluck page. I think she likes the real feathers to feel on that page. I'm thrilled that she loves books so much. Although she's become a quicker flipper, we still both enjoy story time.

Well, I guess that's all for my 100th post. Thanks for checking and I hope you enjoy watching Lily grow up!
