9 Months Old

We took advantage of the nice weather and did a little 9 month photo session. Unfortunately, the only way I could keep her on the blanket was to use the props I had (cell phone and keys)!

Lily likes to shake toys, books, and anything she can get her hands on. She always dips her chin down, squints her eyes, and opens her mouth as she shakes the object up and down. Here, I caught her in the act:)

Flying keys!

Thursday, Lily turned 9 months old. I can't believe it. She not a little baby anymore and the time has flown so quickly. She is incredibly different from the tiny swaddled bundle we brought home from the hospital. She has changed so much over the past 3/4 of a year which has allowed us to get to know each other. That may sounds funny, but it's true. Her personality is starting to shine. She has become much more able to communicate and display her feelings rather than the one-sided response of a newborn...crying, crying, and more crying. I think I've said it before, but I've enjoyed each new age Lily has become even more than the last.

Lily had her 9 month doctor's appointment today and everything was great! Interestingly, she has slowed her growth just a bit. This is fine, since Lily's pediatrician told me the first 6 months of growth is mostly influenced by the in utero environment and after that, genetics kick in. I guess that makes sense since I'm not expecting her to be a 6 foot tall, 190 lb girl! She weighs 20 lbs 14 oz. (85th percentile) and is 27 3/4 inches tall (50th percentile). So, maybe she'll actually be able to wear her 18-24 month clothes all summer! I feel so blessed that Lily has been so healthy and I just hope that continues!
