#1 Fan

I pulled out Lily's Twins Hat since baseball season has started again. I couldn't get over the fact that it is almost TOO SMALL!! Below is a picture I took of her last year and it was ridiculously large. Who knew an infant's head grew so fast!

Here is Lily last year testing out her Twins gear.

Although Gopher sports weren't much to talk about this year, Lily still shows her loyalty to the U of MN.

I'm a bit behind in my posts since the past several weeks have been very chaotic. Between trial runs at Grandma and Grandpa's house, packing, and stressing I was definitely in need of a vacation. Last week, Dave and I finally got to take the trip to Cancun that we had canceled in January! It was wonderful. We only went for 4 nights, which was the perfect amount of time, in my opinion. It was enough to get away and not too long to that we missed Lily too much. Luckily, Lily did great at my parent's house while we were away! Although I still called everyday, I found that it wasn't because I was worried about her (like it would have been if we had gone in January), it was because I just wanted to hear how she was doing. I missed her like crazy (especially when I saw other babies with their mom), but it was well worth it!

Lily has changed a bit since I've last updated you all. She has started to be a bit more mobile. She is not crawling yet, but she somehow manages to move around the entire living room (and into the kitchen) by rolling and twisting and turning. She can get up on her hands and knees (or toes), but just sort of rocks back and forth. Lily has on occasion pushed herself backwards, but so far hasn't really gotten down forward propulsion. I know I should enjoy the fact that she is not moving fast, but I'm excited for her to be able to move where she wants to, instead of just getting frustrated. I still think she's much more interested in standing and walking. She can stand up holding onto something with her hands by herself and has attempted to pull herself up a few times. Sometimes, it's hard to "bend" her to get her to sit because she'd rather be standing!

Lily is getting MUCH better at being a good story listener. It was getting frustrating for a while because she would just grab at the book and try to eat it. Now, she actually looks at it and will turn the pages for you! Sometimes she sticks her face right up to the page and it sort of looks like she's reading it:)

I've been giving kisses to Lily since she was born, but recently she has sort of attempted reciprocation. I give Lily a kiss on her cheek and then say, "Can you give me a kiss, Lily?" and I put my cheek to her mouth. She does the sort of open mouth kiss, but sometimes actually leans toward my face, which I think is an indication that she understands. The best part is she gets a big smile when I say "Thank you!"

Ang, I'm so happy to hear that you had such a wonderful time in Mexico! And, I'm happy that Lily did so well also. That has to be a great relief, and also how fun that she is giving you kisses too!
