They she said she had another one. This was a long one and I probably won't be able to remember it all. It was called "A Dinosaur Got Stuck in a Pumpkin Scone" (you can see the common theme). So, a dinosaur went to Starbucks and bought a pumpkin scone (like we did this morniing). He sat on his brown striped chair with a towel on it to catch the crumbs to eat it. Then the scone started growing bigger and bigger and bigger until it was humongous! So, the dinosaur climbed up the dinosaur ladder and took a dinosaur train around. Then he can back and climbed the ladder to the door on the giant pumpkin scone. He went inside. I asked if he got stuck inside and she said "we'll see!". Well, he did. He called his friends to get him out, but it was too late and they were all sleeping. So, we waited until the sun came up. They came over and try to pull open the door, but it was stuck. The found something in the closet to help...a fruit...no an animal! Something that hums, "Hmmmm". A hummingbird! So they used the hummingbird to try to open the door with no luck. Then they got out something huge...a lion! They all pulled on the door and it opened! The dinosaur was free and they ate the scone. The End. (I think I forgot a few twists and turns in the story, but you get the idea). She was so excited telling the stories! Each story started with "Once upon a time" and ended with "and they lived happily ever after. The End". I love it! What a treat for me to listen to her imagination and creativity take off. She even told me she has three new stories to tell me in the morning (something about going to the fair, and a concert, and Como zoo). I can't wait!

Story time
In the midst of trying to catch up on photos from this summer, I needed to record a moment I had with Lily tonight. Before we went upstairs for bed, she told me she had a story to tell me called "I kid got stuck in a lollipop". I wasn't sure where she got that or if she really had a story behind the title. Boy was I in for a treat. She told me a story of a kid who really wanted a lollipop, so he went into his kitchen and baked a lollipop and put it on a stick. Then the lollipop got bigger and bigger until it was humongous and touched the ceiling! So, the boy climbed up a ladder to the lollipop and got stuck on it because it was sticky. He called his friends to help him and the pulled him off and they all eat the lollipop together. The End. I was soaking up every word since she has NEVER told her own story that was completely organic. She's only contributed to the stories we make up for her. Wow.
