A few days before Audrey's first birthday we celebrated with a Butterfly-themed party. Above, Grandma with the birthday girl.
Clearly the balloons were a hit. I started getting balloons for girl's birthdays for decoration and so each kid can take one home. Audrey LOVED banging them together and she wasn't the only kid that joined in the fun!

I got a little carried away with the butterfly theme and couldn't resist putting butterfly wings on Audrey. She actually kept them on!

We were thankful it was such a beautiful day out! The original weather forecast was pretty bad so we were lucky. Above, I love how Taylor is talking on the play phone while she swings. What a little multi-tasker! Also in picture: Shea, D.R., Hailey, and Dex or Jax.

The older kids ran themselves ragged running up and down the hill. Needless to say, they were all pretty dirty by the end of the party. Above: Lily, Dexter, Jaxon, and Carter.

I love this picture! The kids started in a line at the top of the hill all holding hands. Clearly they all run at different speeds so they couldn't stay together.
Audrey's butterfly cake. It was my first attempt at a 4-layered, two tiered cake. Obviously the party colors were pink and orange.

Audrey didn't care much for her cake and ice cream. Maybe she was too full from dinner.
This was an adorable moment of Audrey and Shea hugging. The picture doesn't do it justice.
We gave Audrey a big stuffed dog and she loved carrying it around. In fact, since the party she has really become attached to her puppy. I even brought it along to her one year doctor's appointment to comfort her after shots.

Hey Beautiful, Butterfly Birthday Girl,
Nana, Papa, Uncle Zach and Amy had a wonderful time at your first birthday party. The day was lovely, the burgers, brats and salads were delicious, and your Mom made a very special birthday cake. We loved watching you play with your balloons and flutter around in your 'wings'. It was a perfect day!
