Trick-or-Treat!

Lily was Abby Cadabby from Sesame Street this year for Halloween. I was thinking about getting or making a Tinkerbell costume for her, but ran out of time. She also loves Abby so she was still excited. In fact, the above picture was taken a few days before Halloween when she first saw her costume. She wore it all morning!

I almost didn't bother getting out the Tigger costume that Lily wore when she was over 3 months old, but it worked great for Audrey! Even though she weighs 5 pounds less that Lily, it fit her pretty well! It was also great to keep her warm for Trick-or-Treating:)

This little outfit was also Lily's, but again it fit Audrey great. What a cute little pumpkin!

The day before Halloween, we kept up our tradition of getting together with our friends the Miedemas and Schroeders for a Halloween party. It was a bit more chaotic this year since there are so many kids, but it was very fun. Thankfully Allison agreed to host:) Unfortunately we had trouble getting all of the munchkins together for a picture. I did catch two Gopher cheerleaders and an Abby though:)

We never got around to carving the pumpkins from my mom's garden, so we improvised and Lily drew on them with marker instead. It was probably more fun for her anyway since she wouldn't be able to carve. Maybe next year!

Lily is getting pretty good at drawing eyes and Grandma helped with the rest:)

Thankfully, my mom came to help me bring the girls Trick-or-Treating since Dave doesn't get home early enough. I carried a rather cranky Tigger, while my mom pulled Lily. I wasn't sure if Lily would like or understand trick-or-treating or if she would get too shy. She wasn't shy at all! She went right up to the doors and said "trick-or-treat!" We only went to about 5 houses since it was getting cold and dark, but I think she had fun:)

Our first stop was at our wonderful neighbors house who gave her more than her share of candy.

Grandma and the girls. Thanks for the help, Mom!

Lily got so excited every time trick-or-treaters came to our door and loved to help Dave give out candy. The only unfortunate event of the evening was when a few older kids came to the door while Lily was dropping candy in the first groups bags. One of the older kids had a scary monster mask on and when she looked up, she freaked out. The kid immediately took off the mask to show her he was just a boy. However, the whole rest of the evening we heard "monster? monster?" and "just a boy" and asked for a hug. I was worried she would not sleep that night, but she did pretty well. I heard a few rumblings here and there, but nothing serious. Still today, she said "just a boy" once or twice. We'll have to be more careful next time!

Lily makes a perfect Abby. I love all the pictures and video of Lily taking advantage of her first memorable Halloween. What a busy celebration for Lily, mom, grandma and dad!

Love,
