Wow, I can't believe that I'm half way done! I'll be 20 weeks along as of this Saturday. In some ways it seems like it has flown by, but I know we still have a ways to go. I am now positive that the "kicking" I felt before was in fact the baby kicking! In fact, now it kicks me pretty much everyday. Sometimes it's only once or twice, other times (like yesterday), it's like 20! However, I don't ever feel it kicking at night (so far). It's weird because in a way, the kicking feels like the beginning of our mother/baby relationship and bonding. It's our first communication, if you can call it that:) Some days the baby is really active and other days, it's sleeping more...sort of like me. It is developing it's own little personality and temperament.
In one week exactly we will find out the sex. I've been so excited for the ultrasound, but not until recently did it really sink in that we will be able to say "we are having a boy" or "we are having a girl". We can refer to "it" as he or she finally! Dave is pretty set that it's a girl and I'm pretty sure it's a boy. At least one of us will be right! I'm realizing that the excitement of finding out the sex is not merely for the ability to pick out blue baby stuff or pink baby stuff. It's really because the it is one step closer to getting to know our little baby. Stay tuned for the big news!
